Who Was I to Stand in God’s Way?

Truth be told, we sometimes hold ourselves back more than anything else.
It’s not always fear of failure. Sometimes, it’s fear of success. Sometimes, it’s the need to stay comfortable, to control the outcome, or to stick to our version of how life “should” look. But life, especially when you’re walking in alignment with God, doesn’t always follow your script.
The truth is, when God starts moving, it rarely looks how we expect.
In Acts 11:17, Peter shared something powerful after witnessing God working beyond his understanding. People questioned him, doubted the situation, and pushed back, but Peter saw something bigger unfolding.
His response?
“Who was I to stand in God’s way?”
It’s a question we all have to ask ourselves at some point.
Are You Standing in God’s Way?
You might be delaying your own breakthrough by:
• Doubting yourself
• Overthinking every opportunity
• Holding on to old mindsets
• Resisting uncomfortable growth
• Limiting what God can do based on past experiences
But here’s the truth: God doesn’t need our permission; He invites our participation.
Your Next Season Requires Surrender
What if the door you’re hesitating to walk through is the exact opportunity God’s been preparing?
What if the discomfort you feel right now is part of the stretching that leads to your next level?
What if letting go of your own timeline is how you finally experience real alignment and peace?
Who are we to stand in God’s way?
This season is about getting out of our ways and out of God’s way. Trust that He knows what He’s doing. It might not look like how we planned, but it’s working for our good.
The Reminder for Today:
Release the limits.
Stop questioning your worth.
Let go of what no longer fits.
Trust God’s process, even when it’s uncomfortable.
When we surrender control, we make space for the unexpected, the extraordinary, and the bigger picture God has for us.
The next move? That’s His, just don’t be the one standing in the way.
