The Road Less Taken: Choosing the Path That Leads to Life

ree

We have all been faced with choices, some obvious and others uncertain.

Sometimes, we follow what feels familiar. Other times, we sense a quiet tug to walk a different way.

Not every path leads to life. Some look right in the moment, but leave us feeling empty in the end.

Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”

But there is another way, the road less travelled.

It might be quieter, slower, even lonelier at times. But it is where peace lives, where purpose takes root.

Where you don’t lose yourself to gain the world.

But here’s the good news: we are not left to figure it out on our own.

In Psalm 16:11, the writer says:

“You have made known to me the path of life…”

That means there is a path that restores us, that leads to peace, that carries purpose. It may not always be easy or fast, but it will never be wasted.

Choosing the right path isn’t about being perfect! It’s about being guided.

It’s about pausing, checking in, and asking, “Does this lead me closer to life?”

So as you rise and reclaim what is yours, let wisdom be your companion.

Let peace be your guide. And let purpose be your compass.

You are not here to follow every road, just the right one.

And that one? It leads to life.

Reflection

- Where in your life do you feel a nudge to pause and reconsider the path?

- What does 'life-giving' look like to you right now?

- Who can help you discern the next right step?

Prayer

Guide me, Lord.

Help me not be led by pressure or popularity, but by peace.

Lead me on the path that gives life, and help me walk it with clarity and courage.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
