The Overlooked Still in the Field

There are seasons when you are not seen.

Not because you’re unworthy

But because God is still doing something in the quiet.

You’re tending things no one claps for.

You’re healing in silence.

You’re building obedience in private.

You have heard the promise. You know there is more. But for now,

You’re still in the field.

“There remains yet the youngest,” Jesse said, “but he is tending the sheep.”

1 Samuel 16:11

God Knows Where to Find You

David wasn’t in the room when the prophet came.

He wasn’t asking for attention.

He wasn’t trying to prove himself.

He was being faithful.

And that’s exactly where God looked.

Not in the spotlight but in the solitude.

The call of God will find you. The oil will wait for you.

You do not have to make yourself seen, you just have to stay surrendered.

You’re Not Forgotten, You’re Being Formed

To be “overlooked” doesn’t mean you’ve been denied.

It means you’re being refined.

There is a work happening in your life that doesn’t need an audience.

It’s the kind of deep, sacred work that only happens between you and God.

You may feel like time is passing.

But nothing God ordains is ever wasted.

There’s a moment coming when everything shifts.

And when it comes, you won’t just be ready

You’ll be rooted.

Until then, stay in the field.

Worship.

Tend what’s in your care.

Walk with God in the quiet.

Let him continue the deep work that crowns from the inside out.

A Prayer: For the One Still in the Field

Lord, I’m still in the field

still tending, trusting, still unseen by many but fully known by You.

Some days I wonder if I have been forgotten,

but I choose today to believe I’m being formed.

Teach me to treasure this hidden place.

Let obedience matter more to me than applause.

Let faithfulness rise where fear once lived.

And when the moment comes, may I walk into it not seeking approval

But simply carrying your presence.

Remind me that I don’t have to chase the oil

The oil knows where to find me

In Jesus' name, Amen.
