Not a Botox! But by His Touch

ree

Not the kind that fades in a few weeks.

Not a Botox touch-up or a surface smile.

But a makeover by His touch, from the inside out.

That’s what happens when you don’t let pain go to waste.

When you bring it, trembling and honest, to the One who can redeem it.

This morning I woke up with a song in my spirit: This is the day of joy.

And I smiled because it wouldn’t have been a song of joy a while ago.

It might’ve been a sigh, a silent ache, a loop of weary prayers.

But today… Today, there’s a bounce in my step. I’ve let Him do the work, not because life is perfect.

I want to introduce myself, not out of arrogance, but out of rediscovery.

I’ve found myself again. And it’s not in titles or applause.

It’s in the mirror of His mercy. In the hush of healing. In the strength that came after surrender.

Don't rush the silence if you’re in a place where your song still feels muted.

Let Him do what only He can. Beauty doesn’t rise instantly. But it rises.

And when it does, you won’t just walk, you’ll rise with joy.

With purpose. With peace.

Not because of a temporary fix, but because of a total transformation by His touch.

I’m reminded of a promise that speaks straight to this transformation. Isaiah 61 was written to a people in mourning, those coming out of loss, captivity, and devastation. It pointed to the Messiah, who would one day rescue and restore. In verse 3, we see the divine exchange: ashes for beauty, mourning for joy, despair for praise. This isn't a cosmetic change. It's a profound, spiritual renewal only God can bring.

“...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”

Isaiah 61:3 (NIV)

Prayer

Father, I give You my ache and my waiting. Do the deep work. Make me new, not just on the surface but all through. Let this be my day of joy, not because of what I’ve gained, but because of how You’ve changed me. Amen.
