Keep Moving Forward

ree

There are moments in life when we are tempted to linger in the past. It might be mistakes that we replay over and over, moments we wish had gone differently. Or perhaps it’s disappointments that we carry like a shadow, hard to shake off. Sometimes, surprisingly, it can even be victories, seasons when everything seemed to align and life felt easier than it does now.

The truth is this: when we cling too tightly to yesterday, we risk missing the beauty of today and the promise of tomorrow. Life is not meant to be lived looking backwards. Every step we take in Christ is ordered, and His intention is always to move us forward.

There’s a certain strength that comes when we learn to release the past. It doesn’t mean the memories disappear, but it does mean they no longer control us. And in that release, something shifts; you discover a kind of spiritual resilience. You become unshaken, because your focus is no longer on what was, but on what is to come.

Psalm 37:23-24 reminds us that:

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.”

What a comfort to know that even when we stumble, God steadies us. Even when we feel uncertain, He has already mapped out the path.

Your story isn’t finished. The past is a chapter, but it is not the whole book. Whatever your next assignment may be, it lies ahead of you, not behind. Don’t let yesterday rob you of today’s opportunities or tomorrow’s promise. Keep your hand on the plough, your eyes fixed forward, and trust the One who orders every step.

Let go. Move on. The best is still ahead.
