He Satisfies My Mouth with Good Things

ree

Not every feast comes from ease. Some are won through fire, not favour. We often see the blessing and assume peace paved the way, but for many, the breakthrough followed a battle.

Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:32, “If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained?”

The beasts weren’t just physical threats, they represented hardship, opposition, and everything that rises to stop a move of God. And still, Paul stood on the other side of it.

Today, I can say with confidence:

“He satisfies my mouth with good things.” (Psalm 103:5)

But I also say, I know what it means to fight.

To fight through loneliness. To wrestle with doubt. To stand in a season where everything seems delayed, discouraged, or dead.

And yet, through it all, He was with me.

This feast didn’t come from striving, it came through surrender in the middle of the storm. And even when I couldn’t feel Him, He was preparing the table. Right there, in the presence of every fear and opposition.

If you’re still in the battle, this is your reminder: it won’t always be this way.

Your season of struggle won’t last forever. The God who stood with you in the fire will feed you in the field.

Reflection

- Where in your life have you fought to stand in a place of peace?

- What has God been developing in you through the battle?

- Are you open to celebrating even while scars remain?

Prayer

Ever Faithful Father, thank You for being with me in every fight. Thank you for the feast that comes after the fire. Give strength to those who are still in the middle of the battle. Let them feel your nearness and know their story isn’t over.

Let us eat with joy what You’ve prepared, not in fear, but in deep gratitude.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
