Don’t Fail in Hard Times

ree

Life will test you. Loss, disappointment, betrayal, sickness and adversity come to us all. And in those moments, it can feel like the very end. However, the wisdom of Proverbs reminds us that adversity is not the end; it is a test of where our true strength comes from.

“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

Yes, we mourn. Yes, we cry. But wisdom calls us not to stay down. Instead, we are to wipe our tears, learn the lesson, and keep moving forward.

Proverbs 19:21 reminds us: “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Even when life shakes our plans, God’s purpose is unshakable.

And just a few verses down in Proverbs 24:16, we find another anchor: “For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.”

The righteous don’t stay down. They rise, not because of their own strength, but because God lifts them.

The Apostle Paul echoes this in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “When I am weak, then I am strong.”

Why? Because God’s power rests on us in our weakness.

Wisdom for Today

Adversity is not the end. Don’t let pain paralyse you.

Cry if you must, but then rise.

Mourn if you must, but then move forward.

Go into your cave if you must, but when it’s time, come out with your head held high.

Learn the lesson. Trust God’s purpose. Keep going, because better is on the way.

A Prayer for You

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that adversity is not the end but a refining moment.

Teach us to draw strength from You, not ourselves.

When we fall, give us the courage to rise again.

When life breaks us, remind us that Your purpose still prevails.

Even if we walk through the fire, may we not be consumed by it.

Even if we pass through the waters, may we not drown.

Be our strength, our song, and our salvation, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Friends, remember: many are the plans in our hearts, but God’s purpose always prevails. When adversity comes, it is not the end. Stay rooted. Stay grounded. And keep trusting Him.
