A Whisper from Grace! Seek Him First

ree

There are moments when truth doesn’t arrive with thunder,

But with a whisper,

a quiet invitation to return, to refocus, and to rest.

“Seek first the kingdom of God…” (Matthew 6:33)

These words didn’t land like a command.

They came with tenderness.

Not pressure but peace.

After years of walking this path of faith,

I have come to understand something new:

Seeking the Kingdom is not about performance.

It’s about presence.

Not about doing more.

But about responding to the One who already gave everything.

Drawn by His Goodness

I used to think seeking God meant striving

that I had to pray more, serve more, and be more. But not so.

Something shifted in me,

not because I tried harder, but because of His goodness.

“It is the goodness of God that leads to repentance.” (Romans 2:4)

And it’s that goodness that made the seeking effortless.

The more He lavishes me with His love,

the more I want to be near Him.

Not to get something, because He is the gift.

Grace Bestowed

Grace is never earned. It is bestowed.

What I have stepped into is not a reward.

It’s a season of grace.

A holy space where I no longer strive to reach God,

I rest, knowing He’s already reached for me.

Blessings are no longer my goal.

They’ve become a byproduct,

not of effort, but of intimacy.

The Father’s Love

This deeper understanding of grace has softened my heart

not just toward God, but also toward my earthly father.

There was a time when I saw the gaps.

Now, I see the grace.

He may not have done everything right,

But I see now

He gave what he knew to give.

And just like our Heavenly Father,

Love was never about perfection.

“I love you, not because you did everything right…

But because you’re mine.”

That truth heals.

It restores.

It echoes the voice of a Father who doesn’t demand performance

only presence.

Seeking Without Striving

Seeking the Kingdom for me is no longer a checklist.

It is the posture of my heart.

It’s not a trade, it’s a response.

Not to pressure, but to peace.

Not for blessings, but from love.

This is the Kingdom:

Where grace leads us,

And love keeps us close.

I pray that our hearts be drawn to Him and not driven away.

May our seeking be sweet, not striving.

And may we know that?

We are already loved by the One we seek.
